T-Magi Tea Shop | Copenhagen, DK
A friend of mine, Marc Jay, is part proprietor of WE Architecture. He has a great sense of high impact meets minimal design. Here is an example of one of his designs, which happens to be one of my favorites (it's my blog, I post what I want. Bitch).
The space itself isn't too large, so it really benefits from the sparse furnishings. Aside from the checkout counter, there is nothing in the form of free standing furniture-- combine that with the stark white walls, hanging jars, and sterility and you have a pretty swank, minimalist, slightly futuristic lab. And it is: only that this lab wont ever find the cure for cancer, or even the cure for the common cold. Small details, really. But what it will do is cure you from the agony of a long day of work, a lousy cold day, or (depending on what teas you drank when a child) homesickness.
I also love that Marc and his partners decided to incorporate the tea house's teapot logo into the design of the shop (great for branding purposes), which you really only see when you are standing outside the shop, once you walk around inside, the teapot (made up of hundreds of round perforations) dissipate into simple round shapes.
I haven't been to the shop yet, but it is in my things-to-do-next-time-I'm-in-Copenhagen list.

Caulfield Preparatory
I have been wearing Caufield Prep since they opened their line a couple of years ago. I liked that they touched into my literary sentiment by naming their line after Holden Caulfield of Catcher in the Rye-- and being real, we both know Holden Caulfield would definitely be wearing this line while going through his existentialist, coming of age, crisis.
Here are two items that I WANT for this summer:
Proteus Tank Henley in After Sex (love the name), and Baron Suit Pant in Serpico.
If I see any of you wearing either of these I will cut you! Of course, only after I compliment you on how cute you look.

Vitrahaus Campus
There are few things that I want to do more than to go to the vitrahaus campus in Weil am Rhein, Germany. Next time I am in Europe, a long layover in Germany will have to be on my list. The structure of the building is just so simple, but has such a presence, and makes a great statement. And don't get me started on their collection of furniture that they have inside. I could nut.

Illums Bolighus' Sit Stool
I ran into this stool while surfing Illum's website. It is stunning, clean, and simple. It seems as though it had been carved from a tree trunk, but don't fret, it is mostly bent (or entirely) laminated wood. And considering the design and beauty, a $500 price tag seems like a steal. As far as the name goes: sit stool? No shit, Sherlock. Come on, it's simple, but they should have tried a little harder.
Normann Copenhagen Norm 03 Steel Lamp
I love Normann Copenhagen. I have a few of their things already, like the stemless cognac glasses and their rocking cups (they rock back and forth when you set them down, but amazingly never spill an ounce of liquid-- great for clumsy house guests!).
One of the cool things about this lamp, is that they have a cheaper version of it made out of thick white plastic that comes disassembled and you put it together yourself: I love the idea, but am happy that they decided not to go that route with the stainless steel one: imagine the bleeding fingers: nay tak!

Minimalist Gaga? What!
W Table
So, it's actually called the tablemaster table, but I renamed it, because W table makes more sense to me. It is designed by Norwegian power duo Anderssen & Voll, which used to be one half of the dismanttled Norway Says (I'm waving a minimalistic flag in their memory). I love it for it simplicity, and stunning lines, but mostly because it makes sense: areas for magazines, and horizontal surfaces to put your most precious shit on. And by precious shit I mean your cup of coffee. And considering the table, your coffee mugs probably look something like this (I own the Process Yellow C cup):
But don't be uncouth: use a coaster.

Muuto Stacked Shelf System
Stunning. A good friend, Morten Kaaber, is the PR and Marketing Guru at muuto, and that is how I know the company. Since I am always on the verge of being broke, I will not be purchasing the real thing (diy project!), although a family and friend discount would be nice. It's a simple enough concept: modular shelving in three different sizes to meet your design and space needs. Check out their other products at muuto.dk
